    My laptop has a 1.4ghz Celeron (single-ore) and 1.5gb memory, and the render settings are 1024x768 on default qualities. It took roughly 3 hours to one fairly simply render.

    That was fast! I did some a while ago but my 2.4ghz quadcore recently left my possession, so I'm back to ungodly render times...which means I'm not making as much now.
